If you had told us years ago that we'd one day own a Swedish candy company in North Georgia, we probably would've laughed. But looking back, it makes perfect sense.
I was born and raised in Sweden, where Lördagsgodis (Saturday Candy) wasn't just about eating candy—it was a family tradition. Saturdays meant picking out our favorite sweets, settling in for a movie, and enjoying what we call mys pys: slowing down, getting cozy, and spending quality time together. Those are some of my favorite childhood memories.
My husband, who's American, spent nearly a decade living in Sweden, so he experienced those same traditions firsthand. Together we've carried them into our own family and have always wanted to share that little piece of Sweden with others.
When Swedish loose candy started going viral on social media, it reminded us just how special these traditions really are. Watching people discover something that had been such a normal part of my childhood inspired us to finally take the leap and start The Swedish Candy Company.
Our mission is simple: to bring authentic Swedish candy—and the traditions and memories that come with it—to families here in Georgia and across the country. We want every bag of candy to be more than just a sweet treat. We want it to be a little taste of Sweden.
